Tuesday, October 01, 2019

On the 14th September from St Arnuard 341kms and under the astute hands of Darrell Curnick; he won the Gippsland Pigeon Federation with a Blue Chequer hen 18-7507.

To produce the winner, Aust 17-754 was mated to a son of Aus12-8 and one of the first De Rauw-Sablon sold by Winners1. Aus12-8 is off our Winners1 imports Frans Moby x New Vapeur.

This year 12-8 was also the sire of the 2nd pigeon in the Adelaide Pigeon Club $10,000.00 race from Cooper Pedy, 745km and a very hard race. Last year Adelaide Pigeon club $10,000.00 race from Parachilna 400 km was one also by a son of 12-8.

Darrell has built a powerful breeding loft and race team; he is currently leading the Gippsland Pigeon Federation aggregate points.

Hi Rod,

We raced the other week from St George (630klms) in what was a very tough race with less than 50% of flyers in the federation actually clocking on the day.

We have again trapped the supper little hen NCF 18 9903 to run 1st club, 2nd Lake Macquarie Combine 5th NCF federation with a velocity just over 1218 m min.(8 hr 30 mins on the wing).

9903 is out of our champion hen LM 15 making 9903 a granddaughter of Top Shelf (Heremans x Alwin Petrie).

It was also the Lake Combines 2nd Breeders plate race and this hen has finished 2nd in that feature race as well ( she also finished second in the 1st Breeders plate race from 300 miles 2 weeks ago beaten only by a loft mate).

This little hen has been in the clock 3 times and been 1st once landing with her sister when we won the combine

She has basically now won 3 and run 2nd outright once in Lake Combine races and taken 4 prizes in the top 5 in the federation including 2 seconds.

Add in the 2 breeders plates second places and the result where she won the combine and ran 2nd in the fed in the 2 bird trap 2 race at 300 miles ( she was half our team ) and this hen has probably earned a spell and will now be stopped for a 2 yo.

Hard to tell if 9903 or 1816 ( 4 outright combine wins ,a fed winner and 3 top 3 places) will win bird of the year but both had great seasons and both grandchildren of Top Shelf

Cheers RC

Jack Hao, 1st club and 1st Diamond Valley Centre.

Wednesday, September 04, 2019

Congratulation to Jack Hao winning 1st club and 1st in the very strong Diamond Valley Centre.

After losing most of his race team to a fox attack earlier in the year, Jack only sent 9 pigeons to last week’s race from Mildura  478km. His winning Blue Bar cock 17-1274 is all Winners1 breeding being from the sire MIGHTY ROBIN from Robin (Alwin Petrie) x Mighty Hen (G & C Koopman). The mother is LAN SE GABY, out of our Gaby Vandenabeele imports Dreaming x Gaby’s Girl.

This is the second time this year the pair has produced a Diamond Valley Centre winner for Jack.

Another top weekend racing for Mal & Richard Clement

Rod Simmons
Monday, August 26, 2019

Hi Rod,

We had a great weekend racing with some really pleasing results winning on Saturday the 5 races available.  Open fed Young Bird Derby, Fed $2 Blue Band Race, Federation Breeders plate race,  Lake Combine Young Bird  Derby and  first and second in the Lake Combine Breeders plate.

Really pleased to win the Lake Macquarie Combine Young Bird Derby, as we had been 2nd or 3rd for a few years straight since our last win in this feature race 4 years ago.

A little hen NCF 18- 9903 who is a granddaughter of Top Shelf, (Heremans x Alwin Petrie), and has been going really well for us winning 2 combine races in her last 2 starts was good enough to take out 2nd prize in the Combine Breeders plate  and also the pools yesterday with a velocity of 1738m min.

9903s parents have probably been our number 1 pair this season producing numerous top 3 fed birds and 4 combine winners in their first season together in stock.

Top Shelf and Maid Marion (Alwin Petrie) have probably been the best pigeons we have ever bought to be honest and I seriously could not count now how many winners they have sired or are grandparents for.

Cheers Richard and Mal

A. M Curcio 2nd Fed VRPU and Jack Hao 18th Fed VHA, both very small team flyers.

Sunday, August 04, 2019

Congratulation to Ange Curcio for 2nd federation from Kaniva, 367km and 1195 birds.

With a velocity of 1,116.39 mpm, his Blur Bar hen 17-3179 and a young loft mate having its first race, put up a great effort on a harder race.  17-3179 is a great grandson of Robert Taylors top stock cock CITY BOY, from Winners1 Alwin Petrie imports ALWIN x SUN CITY. The youngster that landed with 17-3179 is off a granddaughter of City Boy to Rob’s Classic Pair, also breed by Winners1. The Classic pair is Heremans x Alwin Petrie and should see them featured in coming weeks.

Jack Hao racing in the VHA from Ouyen, 391km and 2,478 birds; placed 18th federation with a little Blur Chequer hen 18-14146, velocity 1,175.54mpm. Bred by Winners1, the mother of 18-14146 is Jack’s Gini; a very good race bird for Jack last year. Her father is from SUPERCHARGE from our imports OVERDRIVE (De Rauw-Sablon) x JINGU SAMURAI (Koopman). The mother is DAUGHTER GINI from our top Gaby Vandenabeele imports SON OF CIPOLLINI and GINI.

Richard and Mal Clement 2nd Federation, Wee Waa, 370klms

Rod Simmons
Sunday, July 28, 2019

Hi Rod,

Good race yesterday from Wee Waa which is 370klms to our loft.

We have  again trapped a little yearling hen LM 9903 who was in the clock 2 weeks ago to win the club , combine and run 2nd fed- she is a granddaughter of your cock Top Shelf  being out of a hen fast becoming a real important stock pigeon – LM 15

9903 has again won 1st club, 1st combine ( by over 50 m/ min) and 2nd fed  this week flying a velocity of 1254 m/ min

There were two clocks in the fed almost 50m, or over 12 mins in front of third place so this was an amazing effort by a pigeon having only its 4th start.

This little hen was also equal trap with her full sister LM 9913 in her first start when amazingly the result was 1st club, 1st combine and 2nd fed so she is already effectively a triple Lake Macquarie Combine winner..............

Our 2nd  in today’s race finished 4th fed this week but was  14 mins behind the first 2 birds however still a great effort by another yearling hen having only her third race start

On a side note-

Another sister out of the same pair that bred LM 9903, a little hen rung  LM 1603 today finished 12th in the Hunter Classic $10,000  2nd lead up race from around 200klms against over 300 birds landing in the 3rd little kit by the looks of the times.  She was also in the top 35 from the first lead up race so she is going ok.

Cheers Mate,

Richard and Mal
